The medical field has great potential for the implementation of artificial intelligence. In this post, we look at how AI evidently surpasses humans in diagnosing patients using x-rays.
As AI becomes more adapted and smarter in image recognition, the chances of an AI correctly diagnosing a patient with bronchitis are no longer just a concept. This process works similar to that of the Automatic Brewing Intelligence: where data is fed to the AI and rapidly learns to recognize patterns. In this case, the AI is given thousands of x-ray images generated by computer software and learns to make diagnostics upon these images. However, this does not mean radiologists have become obsolete since there may still be rare cases where the AI doesn’t not detect any problems, where a radiologist might (Tarud, 2021).
